Quality Management

Basic attitude towards quality management

“JUKI Quality” originates from QC activities introduced in the 1970s. In 1981, JUKI won the Deming Prize in the business section of the industrial sewing machine category. In 1988, JUKI adopted the “Promotion of Total Quality Management” as one of its management policies to run its business with an emphasis on “quality.”

Five-Article Quality Declaration

The “Five-Article Quality Declaration,” a set of action standards for the “Quality,” are well-entrenched in every division of the JUKI Group. JUKI continues to do all that it can to nurture a mindset focused on providing quality to customers.

  • 1 We will comply with laws, rules, and promises made to our customers when providing products and services.
  • 2 We will place the highest priority on the safety and security of our customers in our products and services.
  • 3 We will always sincerely listen to our customers’ opinions and strive for continuous quality improvement.
  • 4 We will gain the trust of our customers and grow our business by enhancing quality based on the 5-gen principle.
  • 5 We will contribute to the sustainable development of society by improving the quality of our products and services.

Quality Management system

JUKI maintains and improves quality by holding regular quality-focused meetings of the development, manufacturing, and sales departments of each business, and by including suppliers in their quality-focused dialogs. In the unlikely event of a quality problem, the JUKI Group deploys a Group-wide system designed to solve defects as quickly as possible.

Reinforcing the “production of good products”

Our manufacturing factories are working to become “100% Good Product Shipment Plants” and reduce customer complaints to zero. JUKI has been promoting a “4-process consistency activity” to thoroughly align the four basic processes since 2019. A process audit conducted from a third-party perspective was introduced in 2022 to further improve and heighten the accuracy of this 4-process consistency activity and to widen the scope from single inspections to repeated inspections.
