Industrial Sewing Machines and Systems
One of the priority goals in developing JUKI industrial sewing machines is to achieve “textured seams” appropriate for various materials and sewing items. And because these machines are operated for long hours by people, an ongoing research focus at JUKI is the elimination of operator stress.
JUKI offers a lineup of about 2,000 industrial sewing machine models, including both standalone and automatic types. When changing and developing new models, JUKI focuses on digitalized processes that reduce setup times and deskill workflows in customer factories, improved ease of maintenance, and reduced power consumption. In parallel, JUKI also develops transfer equipment and management systems that respond to the many needs entailed in comprehensive factory smartification.

As a developer of stand-alone machines used in the PCB mounting process and its pre- and post-processes, JUKI strives to harness the latest improvements in electronic components to enhance both quality and speed. To meet the demand for automation in PCB manufacturing factories, JUKI is integrating its equipment with the forefront production control systems linked to every process in a factory.

In the field of industrial sewing machines, JUKI has established a new company (JUKI TECHNOSOLUTIONS CORPORATION) through a functional integration with Meiryo Technica Corporation (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation) and is in alliance with PEGASUS CO., LTD. to advance collaborative development.
JUKI also develops new products and systems that increase value added and support competitiveness and profitability through many active collaborations and academic-industrial partnerships with companies and universities possessed of specialized expertise in various fields.
Advanced research and development
To establish a competitive advantage in the functions and technologies it offers, JUKI has formulated a technology roadmap for each of its businesses and categories. Each roadmap plots out the course for realizing new technologies, differentiating existing technologies, and adopting smart technology solutions that deploy automation, IoT, and deskilling in future products.
SDGs initiatives from a technology development perspective
Mindful that industrial sewing machines are operated by people, JUKI develops human-friendly products and devices that reduce operator fatigue and maintain clean environments through strategies such as noise- and vibration-reduction and dust-and-thread waste collection from fabric edges.
JUKI develops products that consume less power in order to bring the company closer to achieving its carbon-neutrality-by-2050 target. JUKI’s latest motor drive circuits are tailor-designed to the motors they are used with, to maximize performance and eliminate waste. JUKI also researches and develops product parts with lower environmental loads from the very first stages, starting with the selection of the type, quality, and properties of the materials used.
