History of Value Creation
Since its founding in 1938, JUKI has responded to societal needs by developing innovative products and solutions under the corporate slogan “Mind & Technology.” JUKI supports people’s daily lives through technological advancements.
Amidst the economic devastation of Japan’s postwar period, JUKI identified the crucial need for self-sufficiency of clothing picked from among the “clothing, food, and housing” that are closely linked to national life. Launching its household sewing machine business, JUKI addressed domestic work and essential living needs, contributing to peace and economic recovery.
JUKI was then quick to capture the trend of “industrialization of clothing” and expanded its business to the development and manufacture of industrial sewing machines. By supplying high-quality, easy-to-use products globally, JUKI was able to establish itself as the world’s top sewing machine manufacturer.
During the 1960s, as computers and other electronics fields emerged as growth industries, JUKI diversified its portfolio. Through various trials and errors, JUKI developed the electronics assembly & systems businesses, now centered on mounters, into its second mainstay business. JUKI continues to expand its portfolio through the Contract Business, Storage business, and other businesses, adapting to emerging market demands.
