Contributing to society through manufacturing

As a “manufacturing company,” JUKI has consistently provided products and services from the perspective of learning from customers and creating new value collaboratively. This approach aligns with two core tenets of its corporate philosophy: “The men and women of JUKI work hand in hand to spread happiness and enrich society,” and “JUKI technologies are constantly evolving and creating new value.”
JUKI’s business activities over the last eight decades have contributed to the creation of industries and economic development in emerging countries. JUKI believes that its corporate activities help to realize the very societies to which the SDGs aspire.

Achieve Carbon Neutrality

The JUKI Group has responded to climate change and other global environmental issues by “endorsing the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure) recommendations” and making a firm commitment to “achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.”

Various disasters associated with climate change have been occurring globally in recent years.
The JUKI Group is committed to achieving carbon neutrality as a top priority in order to create a sustainable society in which children can live with peace of mind into the future.

The Medium-term Management Plan initiated in fiscal 2023 encompasses further environmental protection enhancement measures such as promoting energy-saving activities throughout the corporate group, advancing the decarbonization of production facilities, and introducing renewable energy generation facilities, storage batteries, and carbon-free electricity sources.

The JUKI Group will work with its suppliers to reduce CO2 emissions not only in its own business activities but also throughout its supply chain.

Initiatives for Social Challenge

JUKI analyzes the various risks and opportunities that exist in today’s changing business environment and identifies key issues based on the perspectives of both JUKI and its stakeholders.
The key material issues (materiality) for JUKI encompass the following: “creating employment opportunities / promoting the participation of various human resources in society,” “contributing to the reduction of clothing waste,” “securing occupational health and safety,” and “supporting technological innovations that contribute to increased productivity in the electronics industry.”

As an enterprise involved in the sewing and electronics equipment industries, JUKI will tackle these social challenges head-on and strive to remain a valuable company that supports the “affluent lifestyles” of people worldwide in the future.
