Participation in Community Activities
Contributing to the reduction of clothing waste through “upcycling activities”
JUKI promotes upcycling through sewing activities to help reduce clothing waste. In 2025, we held upcycling workshops at events such as the Tama Mirai Industry Fair and the AEON Mall Musashimurayama Decokatsu Festa, providing participants with opportunities to experience resource circulation through hands-on manufacturing activities using sewing machines.
Cleanup activities conducted near our head office
In a yearly activity to protect the local environment, JUKI joins forces with six neighboring companies on Zero Waste Day (May 30) to clean up the neighborhood. In 2025, forty volunteers participated in cleanup activities to beautify the community and raise environmental awareness.
Participating in the Tama City ESD Consortium to enhance and develop ESD
Tama City, where our head office is located, promotes Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). We support this initiative and participate in the Tama City ESD Consortium, which brings together companies, civic groups, educational institutions, and government organizations. Through collaboration, dialogue, and other joint activities with consortium members, we contribute to the continued enhancement and advancement of ESD.
China, Shanghai | Collaborating with the Jiading District Fire Department to Enhance Community Disaster Preparedness
Since 2023, Shanghai JUKI Industrial Co., Ltd. has partnered with the Jiading District Fire Department to conduct joint firefighting and rescue drills at its manufacturing site. As part of our ongoing safety initiatives, we are committed to strengthening disaster preparedness and contributing to the resilience of the local community.
Educational Support for Local Communities
Promoting Human Resource Development through Collaboration with Local Communities and Educational Institutions
We promote human resource development through collaboration with local communities and educational institutions. By providing workplace training, job experience opportunities, and internship programs in Japan and overseas, we support skills development and contribute to the growth of next-generation talent. In 2025, we hosted students from local high schools and special needs schools at JUKI Aizu, as well as students from technical colleges and engineering universities in Vietnam.
Welcoming Elementary School Social Studies Field Trips
A year after relocating to Tama City, we began inviting students from nearby elementary schools to come to the site on social study field trip visits. Each year the children come to JUKI to see, experience, and learn. Through tours of our facilities, including the showroom, as well as sewing machine demonstrations and hands-on sewing experiences, we foster interest in manufacturing.
Poland, Warsaw | Sponsoring the MSKPU Graduate Fashion Show
JUKI sponsored the graduation fashion show of the International Fashion Design Academy (MSKPU) by providing a DDL-8000A industrial sewing machine. Through this initiative, we support students' creativity, contribute to local cultural and educational development, and foster relationships with next-generation talent.
