Basic Approach
At JUKI, creating a workplace where everyone can work safely and healthily is our highest priority. We recognize workplace safety and the maintenance of physical and mental well-being as essential foundations for sustainable business growth, and we are committed to achieving zero occupational accidents and minimizing health-related risks. Under our Health and Safety Management System, we continuously implement preventive safety measures, health support initiatives, and workplace improvement activities to create a comfortable working environment where every employee can perform with confidence and peace of mind.
Health and Safety Management System
To appropriately manage health and safety risks associated with our business activities, we have established an organized and effective Health and Safety Management System with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
Health and Safety Committee
The Health and Safety Committee serves as a forum for monitoring and improving the effectiveness of our Health and Safety Management System and is, in principle, composed of an equal number of representatives from labor and management. At JUKI, this structure helps prevent bias arising from differences in organizational functions or job responsibilities and enables a broad understanding of workplace conditions. In addition, sites with fewer than 50 employees, where the establishment of a committee is not legally required, are also incorporated into the Committee, helping to maintain and enhance health and safety standards across the entire Group.

Initiatives Occupational Health and Safety
Health and Safety Promotion Committee
The Health and Safety Promotion Committee, which includes representatives from all manufacturing sites in Japan and overseas, is held once every three months. Although not legally required, this committee was established in FY2020 to further enhance occupational health and safety at each site and to prevent workplace accidents before they occur. The committee serves as a forum for sharing information across all domestic and overseas manufacturing sites, including workplace accident cases and the status of health and safety activities. It also works in close coordination with the Health and Safety Committee.
Safety Audit
JUKI conducts annual safety audits at nine manufacturing sites in Japan and overseas. Audits are conducted either on-site or through video-based reviews. For video-based audits, JUKI employs a cross-audit system in which sites assess one another. Audit results are shared across relevant departments to support corrective actions and continuous improvement.
Workplace Safety Patrol
To maintain a safe working environment, workplace safety patrols are conducted monthly by the Health and Safety Committee. Representatives from labor and management, along with occupational health and safety professionals, directly inspect workplaces and review their findings within the Committee. This process enables the early identification of issues and the implementation of improvements, helping to prevent occupational accidents and promote the continuous enhancement of health and safety activities.
Number of Serious Occupational Accidents
As a result of our Health and Safety Management System and ongoing occupational health and safety initiatives, JUKI has maintained zero serious occupational accidents for two consecutive fiscal years, FY2024 and FY2025.
