JUKI TECHNOSOLUTIONS CORPORATION, a new company, launches its first jointly developed products PLK-J series retrofitted with the AW-3SD

JUKI TECHNOSOLUTIONS CORPORATION was established in July 2022 through a merger between the non-apparel departments of JUKI CORPORATION ("JUKI") and Meiryo Technica Corporation (“Meiryo Technica”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, known for its special strengths in sewing machinery for non-apparel applications. The PLK-J series of Computer-controlled Cycle Sewing Machines (with an input function) is the first lineup of machines developed jointly by the engineers merged into the newly formed company. The series will go on sale in Japan and abroad as the first offering from JUKI TECHNOSOLUTIONS CORPORATION on October 11, 2023. The machines were developed by retrofitting JUKI’s proprietary Automatic Bobbin Thread Wind-and-Feed Device (AW-3SD) to a former flagship product of Meiryo Technica.

The Computer-controlled Cycle Sewing Machines (with an input function) automatically sew according to the patterns programmed through the machine panel. Every PLK-J series model has high penetrating power in the sewing of stiff, heavy-weight fabrics such as seatbelts, safety belts, and bags. A digital tensioning system improves quality by sewing at the optimal tension for the patterns.
The Automatic Bobbin Thread Wind-and-Feed Device changes the bobbin before the bobbin thread runs out, thus preventing the defects resulting when the operator forgets to change the bobbin thread. The AW-3SD has been modified for use with the PLK-J series, based on JUKI's retrofittable AW-3S unit product. Operators can concentrate on their work without worrying about a lack of bobbin thread, as bobbin thread is automatically wound as the machine sews. The use of two bobbin cases also improves quality by facilitating the thread tension control.

JUKI TECHNOSOLUTIONS CORPORATION will continue integrating the technologies of JUKI and Meiryo Technica into newer and smarter products for customers in the automotive, bag, and furniture industries.
