JUKI held a "JUKI free webinar" for helping clothing factories solve their problems.
JUKI held a 2-day free webinar on the 24th and 25th of November to help clothing factories solve their problems amid the age of "living with coronavirus" and in anticipation of the "post-pandemic" period by making the most out of digitalization, automatization and networking that draw the factories' attention as means to cope with their needs. Approximately 1,100 people participated in the webinar.
With respect to challenges in sewing sites such as the "reduction of a fraction defective", "further enhancement of productivity", "labor saving" and "deskilling", needs of the factories differ with regions and countries. To cope with their specific needs, JUKI offered the webinar in Japanese, English and Chinese.
We have received lots of questions and good feedback from the participants such that the explanation about practical case examples was particularly helpful.
During the global coronavirus pandemic, it is and will be difficult to actually organize "real" exhibitions and trade shows. In consideration of this situation, JUKI is going to provide explanations about the JUKI products and hold webinars in accordance with the respective market needs utilizing the Web.
■ Contents of the webinar
・ November 24 (Tuesday)
① 11:00 - 11:45 (Language: Chinese)
Theme(1):“Make the Impossible Possible!” ~Solve problems in Lingerie sewing by Digitalization~
Lingerie sewing factories were conventionally forced to give up improvement of seam quality, solution of seam-quality related problems and reduction in downtime. In this webinar, measures and case examples of how to improve / solve those problems by means of JUKI-proposing digitalization were introduced.
< Recommended participants of the webinar >
- Those who are not satisfied with the current seam quality but want to try to further improve it
- Those who want to reduce the burden on maintenance staff who is in charge of the adjustment of sewing machines
② 13:00 - 13:45 (Language: Japanese)
Theme(2) : For Non-woven product manufacturing customers who want to automate production
The latest protective wear production line was introduced. A production line that achieves labor saving and automatic production can be constructed with the most up-to-date laser cutting machine, ultrasonic welding machine, folding machine, inserting machine, etc. In addition, JUKI's support system for the production line consisting of a broad range of machines was introduced.
< Recommended participants of the webinar >

Theme(3):“Make the Impossible Possible!” ~Solve problems in Lingerie sewing by Digitalization~
* Same content as ①, but offered in English
④ 17:45 - 18:30 (Language: English)
Theme(4):Beyond evolution of sewing efficiency Efficient production with automatic bobbin thread changing t echnology and scrap reduction
It is certain that some works in relation to the sewing machine are likely to be hindrances to automatization of sewing work. In the webinar, measures to eliminate those works were introduced. On the basis of practical case examples such as automatization of supply and discharge of materials and complete automatization of supply of bobbin thread, methods of increasing productivity, preventing jump sewing failures, reducing bobbin thread wastes and achieving the reduction of burdens on sewing-machine operators were introduced.
< Recommended participants of the webinar >
- Those who want to save time and effort required to frequently replace the bobbin thread when using the AMS (automatic cycle machine), to increase productivity and to reduce the operators' fatigue
- Those who aim at automatization of the production line, promotion of deskilling and labor-saving, and reduction of a fraction defective
- Those who want to enhance eco-friendliness, to increase productivity and to reduce costs
- Those who want to liberate sewing-machine operators from burdensome bobbin thread management
・ November 25 (Wednesday)
