Top-end model of the LU-2200N Series
High-speed, 1-needle, Unison-feed, Lockstitch Machine
with Vertical-axis Large Hook and Automatic Thread Trimmer

Now, JUKI has added the LU-2220N-7 high-speed, 1-needle, unison-feed, lockstitch machine with a
vertical-axis large hook and automatic thread trimmer incorporating a 2-pitch dial and "thread trimming
mechanism which leaves shorter remaining thread" to the LU-2200N Series as the series'top-end model.
The LU-2220N-7 was put on the market on the 1st of December, 2007.
The machine is provided with a newly-developed thread trimming mechanism (patent pending) which
prevents the needle thread from appearing on the right side of the material at the starting point of a seam
and is able to shorten the length of remaining thread at the ending point of a seam to the industry's
shortest 5 mm or less. Many car-seat sewing manufacturers specify the standard "remaining thread
length at the starting/ending of a seam" to be 5 mm or less. If a 5 mm or longer length of thread remains
at the starting/ending of a seam, operators must manually trim the thread with a pair of scissors to
satisfy this specification.
The LU-2220N-7 eliminates manual thread nipping work to achieve increased productivity and
upgraded seam quality.
FEATURE
  ・At the starting point of a seam: The newly developed needle-thread roll-in device (the mechanism for preventing the needle thread from appearing on the right-side of the material) draws in the needle thread remaining at the starting point of a seam to the wrong side of the material, preventing the needle thread from appearing on the right side of the material. In addition, adaptability to thread-count changing is provided by JUKI's unique pre-tension disc mechanism.
  ・At the ending point of a seam: The newly-developed thread trimming mechanism which leaves shorter remaining thread trims both the needle thread and bobbin thread with consistency, leaving the industry's shortest 5 mm or less thread on the material (remaining thread length for our LU-2212N-7: 12 mm (needle thread) and 21 mm (bobbin thread)). In addition, the thread trimming mechanism is able to cut as large as #4 count thread without fail, thereby eliminating manual thread nipping with scissors.
  ・The machine is provided as standard with a 2-pitch dial. With this dial, one of two different stitch lengths can be instantaneously selected according to the application. It is possible to interlock the 2-pitch changeover function with a changeover of the amount of the alternating vertical movement of the walking foot and presser foot, thereby further improving seam quality.
