Release of New KE-3020/3020R Series JUKI High-Speed Flexible Mounters that link with FX-3 High-Speed Modular Mounters to Configure High-Speed Power-driven Lines

MORE

On September 21, JUKI Corporation is to release its KE-3020/3020R High-Speed Flexible Mounters, which configure high-speed power-driven production lines by linking with FX-3 High-Speed Modular Mounters.

JUKI began selling its KE Series in 1993 as the pioneer of modular mounters that can flexibly reorganize production lines by combining chip shooters and flexible mounters to match the production amounts, and have gained the trust of its customers over many years. Particularly because flexible mounters are capable of placing a wide variation of product types and have high placement speeds for small-sized components, they can make use of flexibly in production lines and are therefore highly evaluated.

The new generation KE-3020/3020R machines are a new series of products that inherit the features of the KE Series flexible mounters as a superior model to the KE-2080, while employing a Hybrid Feeder Specification as realized in the FX-3 High-Speed Modular Mounter that enables joint use of electronic tape feeders and mechanical tape feeders.
By linking with FX-3 machines, electronic tape feeders can be utilized throughout the line, so that it will be possible to construct high-quality product manufacturing lines that support a wide range of manufacturing needs.
Additionally, since it is possible to exchange electronic feeder batch exchange trolleys and mechanical feeder batch exchange trolleys in the same way as in the FX-3, customers can use their existing mechanical tape-quality feeders and batch exchange trolleys, realizing outstanding investment efficiency.
Further, since the KE-3020/3020R follows the FX-3 design philosophy, a large increase in operability was sought for these machines. Visual operation is realized by employing a fully graphical display and large-sized touch panel monitor in the operation screen. Operability is further enhanced through functions including the Program Support Function that allows operation while checking the program procedures up to the start of production, and the General Purpose Vision Teaching Function that supports the creation of data for components with complicated shapes in an easily understood manner.

Additionally, new options have been added to maintain and improve customer product quality, such as the Component Verification Function that prevents feeder setting mistakes by electrically checking the chip components, and an Ionizer that eliminates the static electricity inside the mounter.

By introducing the KE-3020/3020R High-Speed Flexible Mounter that has enhanced compatibility with the FX-3, JUKI plans to further expand its product sales in the high-speed mounter market.

KE-3020/3020R
Model name High-Speed flexible mounter KE-3020/3020R
Available from September 21, 2010
Features

Flexible Mounter that Employs the Industry’s First Hybrid Feeder Specification
It is possible to jointly use electronic and mechanical tape feeders in batch exchange trolley units. Since the batch exchange trolleys and mechanical tape feeders of previous machines can be used, existing equipment assets can be effectively utilized without waste, resulting in outstanding investment efficiency.
Inherits the Flexibility of the KE Series
Due to the support for a wide range of component sizes, from 0402 chips (minimum chip component size of 0.4 x 0.2 mm) to 74 mm square components and large-sized components up to 50 x 150 mm in size, the machines can be flexibly utilized to great effect in production lines.
The chip component placement speed is 20,900CPH (0.172 sec./chip: optimum conditions), (17,100CPH conforming to IPC9850)
The IC component placement speed is 2,200CPH (an approximately 19% improvement over previous machines), (5,800CPH when using the MNVC option)
Outstanding Operability
Intuitive operation will be possible using the fully graphical operation screen and the large-sized touch panel.
Program Support Function: Allows work confirmation while displaying and checking the program work in order up to the start of production.
General Purpose Vision Teaching Function: Shows guidance of component data creation procedures for odd-shaped components in an easily understood manner.
Wide Range of Support Capabilities
With the newly added XL size circuit board specification which also enables support for large-sized LCD (liquid crystal display monitor) manufacturing, support is provided for circuit board sizes up to a maximum of 610 x 560 mm.

Flux transfer is supported. (Option)

New Options that Maintain and Improve the Manufactured Product Quality
Component Verification Function: Before production or when exchanging components, this prevents placement errors beforehand by inspecting the component capacitor sizes, resistance values, and polarities. Because six components can be checked simultaneously, this will contribute to the shortening of the time period when changing programs.
Ionizer: Neutralizes static electricity inside the mounter, and eliminates static electricity in circuit boards and components.

Energy Conservation
The electric power consumption has been greatly reduced (Approximately 25% reduction compared to previous machines).
* The KE-3020R model also incorporates a laser sensor in the IC head. This enables high-speed recognition of small-sized components using the IC head, allowing support for a wider range of components.

  【About 3E EVOLUTION
Since 1993, JUKI has been striving to provide its customers with even better products and services under its “3E” product concept (“EASY, ECONOMY, EXPANSION”, which means providing products that offer even greater ease of use, increased economic efficiency, and expandable production lines). From 2010, this “3E” concept was further evolved into a new concept of “3E EVOLUTION”, planning for business management through further development of “Even Easier to Use” “More Economical” and “More Expandable”.
